A Fenland morning,
Underneath the Wolf Moon.
I’ve nearly finished Martin Shaw’s new book, Bardskull
And I had to read at least some of it out in the wild.
It is an extraordinary book.

There’s still plenty of winter left,
But there was more than a whisper of spring in the fenland air.

Watching the six swans sail overhead reminded me of David White’s poem The Journey.  Excerpt below.

Above the mountains
the geese turn into
the light again

Painting their
black silhouettes
on an open sky.

Sometimes everything
has to be
inscribed across
the heavens

so you can find
the one line
already written
inside you.

I’m wondering about the question, What does it take to cultivate a deeper, more spiritual life?

And that journey will be different for all of us.

For me, it started with poetry,
It moved on to rediscovering a love of the outdoors,
And the wild creatures,
And now it’s deeply entwined with myth and the old stories.

Where to next?

Not sure, and after all the old maps no longer work.

Simply onwards, I suppose, and to help others start their own journey of discovery.
