Your retreat roadmap

• Find a list of upcoming retreats below and follow the instructions to book.

• Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive an email confirmation telling you everything you need to know about your online retreat.

• Retreats are hosted on Zoom and we use the breakout facility for the small group work.

• Online retreats follow one of two structures.

Either:

– A weekend retreat, with a 2-hour gathering on the Friday night, 3 sessions on the Saturday and 2 on the Sunday.

– A 6-week retreat, with a 2-hour session at the same time each week over the course of 6 weeks.

What to expect from the sessions

Each day we’ll come together to enjoy 2 or 3 group sessions designed to help you go deeper into your understanding of yourself.

When you arrive at the session, I’ll invite you to sit peacefully to clear your mind. I’ll then introduce the theme for that session and read a poem or short story on the topic before giving you some questions to reflect and journal on quietly.

You’ll then be invited to share your reflections with a small group of one or two others if you wish.

After that, the larger group will come back together to reflect as a whole, with the opportunity to share anything that came up for you.

I’ll then close the session with a short ‘grace note’, which may be a shorter poem or piece of prose that I’ll leave you with.

Tips for a great online retreat

Participants have told me that online retreats can be just as intense as in-person gatherings and the same feeling of camaraderie and support can be gained when retreating remotely. Some have even commented they’ve found it easier to contribute straight away when in their own homes.

When taking part in a weekend retreat I ask that you try to stay ‘in retreat’ as best you can between sessions, although I appreciate this is not always possible when at home.

What I do ask is that you find a private space for our sessions where you can’t be overheard to protect the integrity and safety of others in the group.
