Rumi, Hillman & Wagner (the latter heard but unseen)

The to-do list is starting to overspill it’s container. It’s demanding immediate attention.

But it can wait 20 minutes more.

Because first there’s Rumi, James Hillman, Wagner’s Tristan to dive into, and a 5-minute poem that emerged just a few moments ago.

More than that though, the falling light, landing on a thirsty desk, on the eve of the full “Cold” moon is more than enough poetry for one day.

But if you’re hungry for more, like I am, here’s the poem I wrote:

VISITATIONS

Some things take time.
Like the burning wick
Of a candle.
A fragrant stick of incense,
Or the opening of an image,
A bud,
Sent across the bridge
Of Dreamtime.
These things,
That burn with soul,
Make sense only
In the slowness of their
Visitations.

Meanwhile tonight I have the next instalment of Thomas Moore’s Imaginal Psychology ‘course’.

It’s not really a course, it’s more like a modern day Plato’s Academy, a place I’ve been searching for. I’m plucking up the courage to step more fully into the discourse. My soul is egging me on. My ego is keeping me safe right at the back on the Zoom room.

I’m beginning to apprentice myself again.

This time to the archetypal. To be in direct relationship with the image itself. Image is soul. Dream is image.

Well, that’s, more than enough for now. Time to attend to the soul of my list.

Ps if you have visited this entry from any number of different social media platforms, I thank you. I know it’s an extra click. And that there might be some sense of having being yanked to a place you didn’t intend to visit.

But this is where I’m going to ‘house’ my deeper reflections. I dare not say “forever”, how do you even measure that, but it’s certainly “for now”.

And for now feels good.

There’s also a freedom to writing here. Free from any need to craft an image of myself.

If you’d rather get these written reports directly to your inbox, there’s probably a way to set that up. I’ll investigate and report back.

Go gently.
