Cold Moon,
How I have waited for you.
From the clean edge of darkness,
To the place of steadfast and silent
starkness.
The silent night, that holds
All the gifts you’ll ever need,
In its blanketed folds
Of
Light,
Creeping out beyond
The untucked sheets
Of inky sky linen,
Pearls of wisdom, spilling,
Hearts quickening.
What would we do
Without you?
Without your silent presence,
Would the oceans lose their
Rhythmic tensions?
And what would we become, one
Giant wash away from
Tidal forgetting?
And yet,
It is in the forgetting,
That we remember,
The way we came,
That familiar
Undercurrent,
That brought us, here,
To the only true and safe haven
And the only place
That can restore our courage,
To drop
anchor, and walk
Barefoot, through the shallow
Waters, and
Across
The moonlit sands,
To everything
And everyone,
That awaits our patient presence.
